ChequerPrint Systems Limited is a specialist in secure financial document production. Arton Technologies developed and supplied a comprehensive cheque ordering and processing system — covering the full lifecycle from corporate client order placement, through artwork personalisation and MICR encoding data management, to production scheduling, security audit trail and dispatch tracking. The platform replaced a manual, paper-and-phone order management process with a fully auditable digital workflow.

The problem

Manual order management in a high-security, zero-error domain.

In cheque production, errors are not recoverable. A misprint, a wrong serial range, a mis-delivered batch — each carries serious financial and reputational consequences for both the printer and the corporate client whose account details are on those documents. Yet the order intake, personalisation data management and production scheduling were handled manually, creating risk at every handoff.

Corporate clients — banks, large companies and public institutions — placed orders by phone, email and physical requisition forms. Production schedules were tracked in spreadsheets. Dispatch was managed without real-time visibility. There was no self-service for clients to place, amend or track orders; and no automated checks to catch personalisation data errors before a job went to press.

Arton designed the system around the security and accuracy requirements of the domain first, and the workflow efficiency second — because in this industry, the cost of a processing error always outweighs the cost of a slower but correct process.

Client Order Portal

Authenticated corporate client portal for placing cheque orders — specifying book quantity, serial range preferences, personalisation data (account holder name, account number, branch sort code) and required delivery date. Built-in validation catches format errors before submission.

Personalisation Data Management

Structured intake and verification of MICR line data and personalisation fields. Dual-control review workflow — data entered by one operator, verified by a second before production release. Automated consistency checks flag anomalies in account number formats and sort code ranges.

Production Scheduling & Print Management

Order queue management with production capacity planning. Job release to the print floor with job cards generated from the system. Serial range allocation and tracking from blank security stock through to completed cheque books. Waste and spoilage recording with reconciliation to stock.

Dispatch Tracking & Audit Trail

Dispatch recording by courier, consignment and recipient. Client notification on dispatch with tracking reference. Full audit trail from order placement to delivery acknowledgement — every action timestamped and attributed to a named user. Immutable log for regulatory and forensic purposes.
